About Soar

Soar, Spell, designed by None first released in September 2026 in the set Skybound Odyssey.

Soar is best in a low-curve, aggressive Ordis expedition-racing deck that wants to force progress through a contested region, especially when one expedition is already ahead and the opponent is relying on matching terrain to stop it; it is much less valuable in control, midrange, or board-focused decks because it provides no permanent stats, card advantage, or progress unless the expedition is actually being blocked. There is no universally better replacement, but in most aggressive lists a direct progress card such as **Charge!** is generally stronger when available because it advances your plan without requiring the opponent to match your terrain, while Soar is preferable when you specifically expect frequent terrain contests and need a cheap way to bypass them. It should see play as a one- or two-copy tempo tool in a metagame with many matching expeditions, but it is not an automatic inclusion and should be cut if your deck usually wins through board control or rarely gets value fro
