About Make it Work
Make it Work, Landmark permanent, designed by None first released in September 2026 in the set Roots of Corruption.
Make it Work best fits a low-curve, hand-emptying Axiom deck that already wants cards in Reserve and can consistently spend or Reserve its whole hand before passing; it is much weaker in reactive, card-advantage, or expensive builds that need to keep options in hand. There is no universally “better” direct replacement because its Reserve conversion plus completion condition is unusual, but in most competitive lists a cheaper proactive card that advances an expedition immediately, or a dedicated Reserve-payoff already central to the deck, will be preferable to investing three Axiom in a permanent whose reward requires an empty hand. It should see play only as a tested one-of in an Axiom reserve/low-curve shell that reliably completes it; otherwise the setup cost, delayed payoff, and risk of drawing it late make it too inconsistent.
