About Caladrius
Caladrius, Character, designed by None first released in September 2026 in the set Skybound Odyssey.
Caladrius mainly benefits Yzmir tempo or control decks that want a playable character while disrupting low-cost aggressive creatures, especially against decks built around many 1–2 Hand Cost threats; however, returning a character to Reserve is only temporary and the Hand Cost restriction makes it unreliable against midrange and late-game decks, so it is generally a metagame or sideboard card rather than an automatic inclusion. If you want this effect specifically, Baba Yaga is usually the better benchmark because it provides comparable low-cost Reserve interaction while leaving room for stronger stats or additional utility, and unconditional removal or broader Reserve effects are preferable whenever available. Caladrius should see play only in a low-curve Yzmir list expecting many cheap opposing Characters; otherwise, its narrow target restriction makes it too situational for competitive main-deck use.
