Ordis Counterspy best fits an Ordis midrange or tempo deck that wants to pressure an opponent’s Reserve while steadily building board presence, especially a list using the Recruit token as an extra body for expedition bonuses or sacrifice/value effects; however, its impact is fairly situational because Sabotage only matters when the opponent has a valuable Reserve card and a 1/1/1 Recruit is modest for the three-mana cost. In most competitive lists, a more proactive three-cost character or a dedicated Reserve-disruption card will usually be better, while cards that generate a stronger body, provide immediate expedition progress, or remove a specific high-value Reserve target offer more reliable value; Counterspy is therefore playable as a metagame choice against Reserve-heavy decks, but it should not be an automatic inclusion and is generally a sideboard or one- to two-copy option rather than a core card.
