Lyra Mapmaker is best suited to a Lyra terrain-focused control or midrange deck that can consistently reveal three to five single-terrain regions, where its boost effect is reliable and the conditional Asleep effect can create a strong tempo swing; outside that shell, a two-muna Character with effects that often do nothing is too inconsistent. In most competitive lists, it is worse than dependable Lyra two-cost options such as Lyra Navigator, which provides value without requiring a difficult board-state threshold, so Mapmaker should generally not see play unless your deck is deliberately built around single-terrain regions and has enough region manipulation to reach those thresholds consistently.
