About Devoted Protector
Devoted Protector, Character, designed by None first released in september 2026 in the set Roots of Corruption.
Devoted Protector is best suited to a Bravos deck that wants a cheap, early Character to establish expedition presence, absorb opposing interference, and support a curve built around efficiently contesting regions rather than elaborate combo lines; at 1 mana it can be a reasonable filler if its specific stats or ability align with your hero and reserve plan, but it generally needs to outperform other one-cost Bravos Characters in the matchup to earn a slot. Without its rules text, I cannot reliably name a strictly better replacement, since that depends entirely on its stats, abilities, and whether you need its particular support effect; in most tuned lists, though, a low-impact vanilla-style one-drop should only see play when it advances your deck's primary game plan or fills an important curve requirement, not merely because it is inexpensive.
