About Thomas Edison
Thomas Edison, Character, first released in September 2026 in the set Seeds of Unity.
Thomas Edison best fits an Axiom toolbox or combo deck that deliberately fills its Reserve with Characters carrying powerful `r` abilities, especially effects that generate resources, draw cards, remove opposing permanents, or create several bodies, while also benefiting from discard synergies; however, a five-cost investment for a conditional, setup-dependent effect makes it too slow and inconsistent for most competitive lists. There is no universally better card for copying Reserve abilities because Edison is uniquely flexible, but Axiom decks generally get more reliable value from dedicated five-cost threats such as **Brassbug Hub** or other cards that immediately advance the board without requiring a Character in Reserve, so Edison should only see play as a one-of or build-around inclusion in a deck specifically constructed around high-impact Reserve abilities, and should otherwise be left out.
