About Sofia, First Outpost
Sofia, First Outpost, Landmark permanent, designed by None first released in September 2026 in the set Whispers from the Maze.
Sofia, First Outpost best fits a slow, value-oriented Reserve deck—especially one that repeatedly places Support cards into Reserve and uses them to add boosts, progress, or other counters to characters that can benefit from exceeding their normal limits; it is most attractive in a dedicated counter engine, but weak in ordinary midrange or tempo lists because a three-muna Landmark provides little immediate board impact and depends on drawing the right Reserve Supports afterward. In most decks, a proactive three-cost card such as The Foundry is better because it advances your board immediately and does not require a narrow combination of cards, while faction-specific character or Support cards that directly generate counters are also generally more reliable. Sofia should see play only as a deliberate build-around in a Reserve-and-counters strategy; otherwise, it is too slow and conditional for competitive lists.
