About Simurgh
Simurgh, Character, designed by None first released in September 2026 in the set Whispers from the Maze.
Simurgh would mainly benefit a reserve-denial or low-reserve control/midrange deck that deliberately spends cards quickly and can reliably keep fewer cards in Reserve than the opponent, allowing its conditional draw effect to trigger while using its Gigantic body to contest expeditions; however, seven altered-muna is a very high cost for an effect that depends on the opponent’s Reserve and only replaces the card you spent, so it is too inconsistent for most competitive lists unless its base stats are exceptional or the metagame heavily rewards Reserve manipulation. More reliable card-advantage options such as `Aloe Vera` are generally better because they provide value without requiring the opponent to have a larger Reserve, and Simurgh should usually not see play outside a dedicated Reserve-focused build or a collection-limited format.
