Mapmaker’s Boon fits a terrain-focused midrange or tempo deck—especially one that reliably keeps three or more single-terrain regions visible—because it can provide an efficient four-boost combat swing while still being acceptable for two boosts when the condition is not met; however, it is too conditional for most generic lists, and decks that cannot consistently expose single-terrain regions should prefer a more reliable option such as Physical Training, which provides a dependable boost without requiring a specific board state. Even in a terrain deck, Mapmaker’s Boon competes with stronger cards that offer boosts alongside card advantage, removal, or lasting value, so I would play it only if the deck is deliberately built around single-terrain visibility and needs cheap combat tricks; otherwise, it should generally remain out of the main deck.
