About Mapmaker's Boon
Mapmaker's Boon, Spell, designed by None first released in September 2026 in the set Skybound Odyssey.
Mapmaker's Boon best fits a Lyra deck deliberately built around making and preserving single-terrain regions, especially one that can reliably keep three visible while placing a large, durable Character in the right expedition: four boosts for 3 mana is an efficient way to swing an expedition and compound Lyra's positional tricks. It is much weaker in mixed-terrain or highly reactive lists, where it is usually only two boosts and therefore not worth a card or 3 mana; in those decks, a Character that supplies immediate expedition statistics or utility is preferable. There is no strictly better replacement in the narrow role of a conditional four-boost spell, but any lower-cost boost source or proactive Character is better when the three-region condition is unreliable. It should see play only in a dedicated single-terrain Lyra shell that can trigger the full effect consistently, rather than as a general-purpose Lyra staple.
