About Hold the Line!
Hold the Line!, Landmark permanent, first released in September 2026 in the set Roots of Corruption.
**Hold the Line!** is best suited to a proactive Bravos boost/midrange deck that can establish multiple characters early and consistently keep at least two of them boosted, especially lists built around repeated boost generation and winning expeditions through tempo rather than raw card advantage. Its immediate effect is respectable, but the delayed “when you pass” condition makes it vulnerable to removal and awkward if you cannot develop two boosted characters, so it is weaker in control, low-character, or reactive decks. In most competitive builds, more reliable boost payoffs and character-based boost engines—particularly cards that generate boosts while also contesting an expedition—are generally better because they do not consume a Landmark slot or require a specific board state; Hold the Line! should therefore be treated as a synergy option rather than an automatic staple, worth testing as a one- or two-copy inclusion only in dedicated Bravos boost decks.
