About Fab Lab Unit
Fab Lab Unit, Expedition permanent, first released in September 2026 in the set Seeds of Unity.
Fab Lab Unit best fits an Axiom deck built around low-cost Characters with powerful Reserve abilities, especially a tempo or midrange list that can repeatedly develop Characters into the Expedition while gaining extra value from effects such as drawing, producing resources, or adding support; however, spending two mana and an action to play a permanent that must remain in play before providing conditional value makes it fairly slow and vulnerable compared with simply playing another Character or using more reliable Reserve enablers such as `Foundry Arm` or `Mechanics Training` (when available in your format), so it is mainly worthwhile if your deck contains several high-impact Reserve abilities and can protect or exploit the Unit over multiple turns. In a normal competitive Axiom deck, I would not consider it an automatic inclusion: use it only in a dedicated Reserve-synergy build, while generic midrange, control, and aggressive lists generally have better cards for immediate board pre
