About Encore
Encore, Spell, first released in September 2026 in the set Whispers from the Maze.
Encore best fits an aggressive Bravos tempo deck built around cheap, high-impact Fleeting characters or characters that are already Boosted, because Anchored can let a strong attacker survive into another expedition instead of being sent to Reserve; it is especially appealing when that character is winning an important region or has a valuable effect you want to reuse. However, it is narrow: without enough Fleeting or Boosted targets, it is often a low-impact two-cost card, and even with them it competes with more proactive options. There is no universally better card for preserving a character, but a card such as `Charge!` is generally more reliable in a typical Bravos list because it immediately increases pressure rather than requiring a specific target and surviving the opponent’s response; Encore should see play only in a dedicated Fleeting/Boost-focused tempo build, not as an automatic Bravos staple.
