Devoted Protector is best in a low-curve Bravos Feat deck that can reliably establish a Feat early, since its 1-cost body becomes meaningfully more efficient once the condition is active and its boost supports Bravos’ tempo-oriented expeditions; it is much weaker in ordinary Bravos lists that cannot consistently control a Feat, where an unconditional 1-cost character with stronger printed statistics or immediate utility is preferable. There is no universally “better” replacement in the dedicated Feat shell because its value comes from being a cheap payoff for that specific condition, but any more independently powerful Bravos one-drop is better outside that archetype. It should see play as a supporting card—rather than a centerpiece—in Feat-focused decks, particularly if the deck can keep a Feat in play consistently.
