About Charybdis
Charybdis, Character, designed by None first released in September 2026 in the set Neverending Journey.
Charybdis best fits a Bravos ramp/control deck that can reliably reach 7 mana and wants a large expedition body plus late-game answers to troublesome Permanents; it is especially appealing if your plan often places it in {O}, where Tough 1 makes it much harder to remove. It is not an automatic staple, though: seven is a very high price for reactive Permanent interaction, so faster Bravos lists generally prefer cheaper, earlier pressure or disruption rather than holding a costly finisher. There is no universally strictly better replacement because Charybdis combines Gigantic, conditional Tough, Sabotage, and Permanent removal in one card, but cheaper Sabotage/removal options are usually better when tempo matters; play Charybdis as a one- or two-copy meta call in slow decks if Permanents are common, rather than as a core card in most competitive Bravos builds.
