Bait best fits a Yzmir control or tempo deck that expects opponents to produce many token Characters—especially against Ordis, Axiom, or token-oriented midrange lists—because it effectively removes an opposing token while adding that body to your expedition, but its 2-cost and Fleeting drawback make it extremely matchup-dependent; if the opponent is not producing tokens, it is nearly unplayable. In most general-purpose Yzmir decks, flexible interaction such as **Paint Prison** is better because it can answer non-token Characters and remains useful across more matchups, so Bait should usually be a sideboard or metagame choice rather than a main-deck staple; play it only if token strategies are common in your environment or your deck specifically benefits from stealing and converting opposing tokens.
