About Arges
Arges, Character, first released in September 2026 in the set Neverending Journey.
Arges fits a slow Ordis midrange/control deck built specifically around Landmarks, preferably one that can establish several Landmark cards early and protect enough time to bank boosts while Arges sits in Reserve; once boosted, Gigantic lets it swing both expeditions at once and Tough 1 makes that investment harder to answer. It is not a generic six-cost staple, though: without at least several Landmarks in play, its Reserve action is too slow and it risks being an expensive, low-immediate-impact play, so more proactive Ordis finishers or cheaper high-stat characters will usually be preferable in ordinary token, tempo, or curve-focused lists. There is no universally “better” replacement because Arges’s payoff is uniquely tied to Landmark count, but in a deck that cannot reliably reach three or more Landmarks, a cheaper independently powerful threat is better than Arges; it should see play only as a one- or two-copy payoff in dedicated Landmark shells, not as a default Ordis card.
