About Trailing Seagull
Trailing Seagull, Character, first released in September 2026 in the set Neverending Journey.
Trailing Seagull is best suited to low-cost, tempo-oriented Yzmir decks that want to establish an early character and convert spare mana into a small power advantage, especially lists built around cheap characters, boost support, or maintaining expedition pressure; however, a one-time +1 boost is usually a modest payoff, so it is unlikely to be a staple unless its base statistics are unusually strong or its boost can be repeatedly exploited. In most cases, stronger one-cost alternatives that provide immediate card advantage, better base stats, removal, or a more reliable recurring ability—such as efficient Yzmir tempo characters or cards that generate value when entering or leaving play—will be preferable. Trailing Seagull should see play mainly as a budget filler or in a dedicated boost-focused build, but competitive decks should generally replace it with a card offering more lasting impact.
