About Time Flies
Time Flies, Spell, designed by None first released in September 2026 in the set Neverending Journey.
Time Flies fits a reactive, low-curve Muna deck that values acting second—especially a tempo/control shell that wants to see the opponent’s commitments before making its own expedition or playing its answers—because it replaces itself while temporarily handing away initiative; however, it is not a broadly efficient card-advantage spell, since two mana plus giving the opponent first-player status is a meaningful tempo cost. There is no universal strict upgrade because the initiative swap is unique, but dedicated ramp or value lists will generally prefer more proactive Muna draw/advantage tools such as Mana Channeling over this effect, while aggressive decks should avoid it entirely. It should see niche play only when exploiting the opponent being first player is an intentional part of the deck’s game plan, not as generic card draw.
