About Thunderbird
Thunderbird, Character, designed by None first released in September 2026 in the set Roots of Corruption and was printed exactly in 2 different ways.
Thunderbird is best in an Ordis Ascension-focused midrange or tempo deck that can repeatedly trigger Ascension and capitalize on the extra card flow, since its activated Ascend effect effectively turns each successful Ascension into both expedition progress and a replacement card; it is less appealing in standard Ordis token, Bureaucrat, or pure-stat decks that cannot reliably use the Ascension clause. Its main competition is any cheaper or more efficient Ascension enabler that advances an expedition without requiring repeated mana investment, as those cards generally provide better tempo, while dedicated card-draw characters are better when your deck needs consistency rather than movement; nevertheless, Thunderbird is a reasonable playable role-player in a deck built around Ascension triggers, but it is not an automatic inclusion or a broadly powerful 3-cost card outside that archetype.
