About The Hare

The Hare, Character, designed by None first released in September 2026 in the set Skybound Odyssey.

The Hare best fits a reactive Yzmir control/tempo deck that benefits from giving the opponent first-player status so you can act second and retain the last meaningful action of the round, especially when your deck is built around responses, disruption, and efficient reserve plays; however, at 3 mana, its initiative-switching effect is fairly narrow and does not advance an expedition by itself, so it is usually a meta-dependent utility inclusion rather than a staple. There is no universally strictly better card with the exact same effect, but cheaper characters or spells that provide immediate expedition stats, card advantage, or disruption will generally be stronger in most Yzmir lists unless manipulating turn order is specifically valuable in your matchup or strategy. As a result, The Hare should see play only as a situational one- or two-copy tech card in decks designed to exploit acting second, not as a default 3-cost character.
