About Tāne
Tāne, Character, designed by None first released in September 2026 in the set Skybound Odyssey.
Tāne is best suited to a slow Muna Reserve deck built around Animals and Adventurers, where its immediate boost to multiple cards can generate strong value and Anchored helps preserve a key character in an expedition; Tough 1 also makes it difficult for opponents to remove efficiently. However, six altered-muna is a very high cost, and the card is weak when your Reserve is small or lacks enough qualifying characters, so it is less attractive in aggressive, tempo, or non-Animal/Adventurer Muna lists. In most competitive builds, lower-cost Reserve enablers such as **Muna Caregiver** are better because they provide value earlier and do not require Tāne's expensive, conditional payoff. Tāne should see play only as a one-of or finisher in a dedicated Reserve-focused Animal/Adventurer deck; otherwise, the opportunity cost is too high.
