About Tag!
Tag!, Spell, designed by None first released in September 2026 in the set Seeds of Unity.
Tag! fits a reactive Yzmir control or tempo deck that wants to trade one spell for an opponent’s most expensive character, especially in a metagame full of high-cost anchors and characters whose abilities make normal interaction awkward; because it makes the opponent sacrifice rather than destroying or targeting the character directly, it can bypass some protection and leaves no choice about which high-Base-Cost character they lose. At 4 Reserve, though, it is situational and often inefficient against low-curve or token-focused decks, so it should be a metagame-dependent inclusion rather than an automatic staple—generally a sideboard-style card or a small main-deck package if expensive characters are common. I would not call another card universally better, since Tag!’s forced sacrifice niche is distinct, but broader, cheaper interaction is usually preferable when available in your list; play Tag! when removing the opponent’s biggest body is reliably worth four mana, and skip it when y
