About Lyra Mapmaker
Lyra Mapmaker, Character, designed by None first released in September 2026 in the set Skybound Odyssey.
Lyra Mapmaker belongs in a Lyra deck built to make single-terrain regions consistently visible—ideally one that can reach three such regions early for the boost and five often enough for the Asleep effect to matter—rather than in a generic good-stuff list. The boost clause is the dependable payoff and makes her a reasonable 2-cost play in that dedicated shell, while the five-region sleep is a strong but late and board-dependent bonus that can disrupt an opposing expedition at a key moment. There is no universally “better” replacement because her value is tied so tightly to the region package; however, any unconditional 2-cost character with immediate expedition stats or a guaranteed effect is better in decks that cannot reliably maintain at least three visible single-terrain regions. She should see play as a niche synergy card, preferably as a small number of copies unless your entire strategy is specifically designed to enable her conditions.
