About Kauri's Intervention
Kauri's Intervention, Spell, designed by None first released in September 2026 in the set Skybound Odyssey.
Kauri’s Intervention best fits a high-curve Muna ramp or midrange-control deck that regularly has several characters with hand cost 4 or more in play, since paying 1 altered-muna to make them extremely difficult to target for an entire day can protect a developed board from removal and disruption; it is much weaker in low-cost or aggressive decks, and it does nothing against untargeted effects, board wipes, combat, or situations where you have no qualifying characters. There is no universally better card because its effect is unusually efficient when it works, but more flexible protection or removal will generally be stronger in average decks; therefore, Kauri’s Intervention should see play as a situational one- or two-copy inclusion in expensive-character decks, especially in a target-heavy metagame, but it should not be an automatic staple.
