About Hector
Hector, Character, first released in September 2026 in the set Neverending Journey.
Hector is best in a Muna Animals/Companions list—particularly a Teija & Nauraa-style build that already wants creatures in Reserve and can turn permanent boosts into stronger future expeditions—because he can spread three boosts precisely where they matter, including onto Reserve targets before they are replayed; he is much less attractive as a generic three-cost body or in decks with too few eligible targets. There is no universally “better” replacement for his exact reserve-facing boost effect, but cheaper proactive boost cards or higher-impact three-cost threats are generally preferable if your deck cannot consistently have two or more worthwhile Animals/Companions available; therefore, Hector should see play as a focused synergy card, usually in limited copies rather than as an automatic staple.
