About Gargoyle
Gargoyle, Character, designed by None first released in September 2026 in the set Skybound Odyssey.
Gargoyle best fits an aggressive, tempo-oriented deck that wants to win an expedition race quickly, especially one using cheap characters and buffs to make the extra ascent convert into an immediate region advantage; it is much weaker in control or value decks because spending two muna on a character that mainly advances an expedition can leave you behind on board presence. There may be stronger alternatives when you need raw stats, removal, or card advantage, but Gargoyle’s ascent effect is unusually direct and difficult to replace, so no universally better card exists; play it when your deck is consistently contesting expeditions and can exploit a one-step lead, but avoid it if your list often falls behind or needs every two-muna play to affect the board.
