About Drowsy Dodo
Drowsy Dodo, Character, designed by None first released in September 2026 in the set Skybound Odyssey.
Drowsy Dodo fits a low-curve, boost-oriented deck that expects both players to commit Characters to the same Expedition, especially one able to exploit repeated “joins facing me” triggers while treating Asleep as a manageable drawback; it is less attractive in decks trying to race expeditions uncontested or relying on its Characters to remain active for effects. At 2 mana, the conditional boost can provide efficient value, but it depends on the opponent cooperating and the Dodo surviving long enough to see those joins, so it is a role-player rather than a staple. I would not call another card categorically better without knowing the hero, faction, and current card pool, but any 2-cost Character that supplies immediate expedition stats, a guaranteed boost, or a stronger recursion/tempo effect will generally be preferable in a competitive list. Drowsy Dodo should see play only when its trigger can be deliberately supported and Asleep can be converted into upside or ignored; otherwise, us
