About Doppelgänger
Doppelgänger, Character, designed by None first released in September 2026 in the set Skybound Odyssey.
Doppelgänger is best suited to an Ordis midrange or control deck built around copying high-stat, high-value opposing Characters—especially when your own Character is already positioned to benefit from the copied subtypes or when the copied statistic produces a meaningful boost across multiple stats; however, four mana is expensive and the effect depends heavily on the opponent having a strong Character directly opposite yours, making it unreliable and vulnerable to removal or an unfavorable board state. In most decks, more consistent options such as **Anubis**, for efficient board pressure, or **The Council**, for broader value and flexibility, are generally better uses of four Ordis mana, while **Doppelgänger** is more of a situational tech or surprise card than a staple. It can see play as a one-of or in a metagame full of large opposing Characters, but I would not recommend building around it or including multiple copies unless testing shows that the subtype copying and temporary bo
