About Demodocus' Tale
Demodocus' Tale, Spell, designed by None first released in September 2026 in the set Neverending Journey.
Demodocus' Tale best fits a proactive Lyra deck built around cheap, expendable Characters and payoff for random effects, especially when a +1 boost immediately wins an expedition and a Fleeting Character is an acceptable loss; it is poor in value-oriented lists that depend on Characters returning to Reserve repeatedly. Because the die roll is an even 50/50 between a useful permanent boost and a severe drawback, a reliable one-cost boost or a Character that provides stats without risking Fleeting is generally better whenever your card pool offers one, so there is no universally better named replacement so much as a preference for guaranteed buffs. It should see play only as a niche synergy or high-tempo card, not as a standard inclusion: the upside is efficient, but the failed roll is costly enough that most decks should favor consistency.
