About Bait
Bait, Spell, designed by None first released in September 2026 in the set Skybound Odyssey.
Bait is best suited to a control or tempo deck in a token-heavy metagame—especially one that can exploit stolen bodies through sacrifice, buffs, or expedition-based advantages—because taking up to three opposing tokens can create a huge swing, but its three-muna cost, Fleeting, and restriction to tokens make it extremely matchup-dependent. In most decks, more reliable removal or disruption such as **Hatter’s Trick** is better because it remains useful against non-token Characters, while Bait is mainly a meta call for punishing token strategies. It should generally not see main-deck play unless token decks are common in your environment; otherwise, keep it as a sideboard-style option or leave it out.
