Polyphemus fits a Bravos midrange/ramp deck—particularly Atsadi lists that can afford six-cost characters and decks built to stock the Reserve with expendable Characters—because it converts dead or redundant Reserve cards into repeatable +2 boosts, making its already large body a serious expedition closer; it is less appealing in low-curve aggressive Bravos builds or lists without Reserve generation, since six mana is a major investment and discarding Characters is costly. In most competitive Bravos decks, Kaibara, Asgarthan Leviathan is generally the better expensive payoff because it provides more immediate, reliable expedition impact without needing Reserve fuel, while Polyphemus is a playable but niche inclusion rather than a staple: run it only if your deck consistently generates surplus Characters in Reserve and wants a durable late-game threat.
