About Metamorphosis
Metamorphosis, Spell, designed by None first released in setembre del 2026 in the set Whispers from the Maze.
Metamorphosis fits reactive Yzmir control or midrange decks that need clean answers to oversized, high-impact Characters—especially those with powerful Reserve, support, or recurring effects—while being able to comfortably contest the Mana Moth’s 2/2/2 stats in the same Expedition; it is much less appealing in aggressive lists, since replacing an opposing Character with an immediate body can preserve their expedition presence. Compared with cheaper tempo interaction such as **Off You Go!**, which is generally better when bouncing a Character to Reserve is sufficient, Metamorphosis is preferable only when permanently discarding the target matters enough to justify three mana and the replacement token. It should see niche, usually sideboard-style play in Yzmir-heavy metagames full of expensive or must-answer Characters, but is unlikely to be a universal staple.
