Make It Work is best in a low-curve, aggressive Axiom deck that can empty its hand quickly through cheap characters, permanents, and Reserve-based effects, since its ability turns your last card into Reserve and rewards you for passing with no cards left; it is much less attractive in midrange or control lists that want to keep reactive cards in hand. In most competitive builds, however, it is probably outclassed by more immediately impactful Axiom permanents such as Brassbug Hub, which provides ongoing value without requiring you to empty your hand, and by efficient tempo or card-advantage cards such as Axiom Scrambler or Foundry Engineer, depending on your list. Make It Work should see play mainly as a thematic or specialized choice in an ultra-low-curve Reserve deck; otherwise, the setup is too conditional for a two-Axiom slot and you should prioritize cards that affect the board or generate value immediately.
