Kauri & Puff is a niche combo/control payoff card that shines in decks built around first-player tempo and opponent-hand disruption, where handing your opponent a low-stat token is a worthwhile trade for the extra card draw, so it fits best in aggressive first-player shells, bounce-or-steal strategies that can reuse or weaponize the token, or any deck that already wants to be active on Noon and needs a cheap draw engine to keep momentum. However, it is generally outclassed by other zero-cost draw options in the format, since unconditional or less restrictive draw like Crystalline Recursion, Pack-Rat's Cunning, or similar Noon/card-advantage engines provide the same or better card advantage without the downside of giving your opponent a body, and a 1/1/1 in their Companion Expedition is a real cost that can snowball against you in close races, meaning Kauri & Puff should only see play as a one-of tech in very specific first-player combo decks and otherwise remains a fringe pick.
