Grumpy Imp best fits a Yzmir discard or hand-cycling deck that can discard cards consistently and exploit temporary boosts, but it is a weak payoff because its ability only works while it has no boosts, meaning each discard usually produces just one boost and the card does little if you cannot reliably clear or consume that boost; in most Yzmir decks, **Kitsune** is a better two-cost character because it provides more reliable value without requiring a discard engine, while cards that directly support your deck’s primary plan, such as spell or hand-management payoffs, are generally preferable to Grumpy Imp as well. I would only play Grumpy Imp in a dedicated discard-focused list with several repeatable discard effects; otherwise, its low-impact body and conditional ability make it a likely cut.
