Encore best fits a Lyra tempo or combo deck built around powerful Fleeting Characters that generate value from staying in play for an additional turn, letting them make a second expedition or trigger their abilities again before finally going to Reserve; however, it is usually too narrow and expensive because it requires both a Fleeting target and two Lyra mana while providing no immediate board presence, so it should only see play in a deck with several high-impact Fleeting threats. In most Lyra lists, a stronger option is `The Frog Prince`, which provides a body while supporting the same aggressive, temporary-character strategy, or simply more efficient Characters and removal instead of spending a card to delay Reserve; unless your deck is specifically built around repeatedly exploiting one exceptional Fleeting Character, Encore is generally a side-grade at best and should not be played competitively.
