Tāne best fits a Muna Animal-focused midrange deck that regularly resupplies and keeps several Animals in Reserve, especially with Arjun & Spike, since its boosts can turn those reserved characters into efficient plays while Anchored lets Tāne contest an expedition for a second day; however, at six mana it is slow, and with fewer than two Animals in Reserve its payoff is usually too small. For a general Muna deck, Dracaena is a more efficient Anchored threat and Hydracaena is a much stronger late-game finisher, while cheaper characters are preferable if you need immediate tempo. Tāne should therefore see play only as one or two copies in a dedicated Animal/reserve strategy—not as a Muna staple—and should be omitted if your list cannot consistently have multiple Animals waiting in Reserve when it is played.
