**Salvage** fits best in a midrange or control deck that either runs expendable or death‑trigger gear, wants to cycle quickly, or can turn destroying its own gear into value (such as scrap/salvage-synergy builds); in those decks it functions as flexible utility—converting a low‑impact or spent gear into a fresh card while also serving as situational removal in showdowns. However, if your goal is pure card draw, more efficient draw options like **Insight**, **Arcane Planning**, or any 2‑cost spell that draws 2 (or draws without requiring you to lose a permanent) are generally stronger; and if your goal is removal, dedicated removal such as **Shatter Gear** or broader interaction spells will usually be more impactful. Salvage should see play mainly in synergy-driven lists that actively benefit from destroying their own gear or need the flexibility at instant speed; otherwise, in generic decks, it’s likely outclassed by more focused draw or removal options.
