Pan best fits a low-cost sabotage or discard-control deck that can exploit the opponent’s reserve size, trigger discard synergies, or benefit from placing an expendable Woollyback in the opponent’s Companion Expedition—especially if you can make it Asleep so it contributes less immediately; however, the effect is fairly low-impact because you spend a card and two mana while potentially giving the opponent an additional body, so it should generally not see competitive play unless your deck specifically rewards sabotage or needs an inexpensive trigger. Without a particular faction, format, or card pool specified, there is no single definitive replacement, but a stronger sabotage card that discards more reliably, provides stats or board control, or creates value on your side would be better; in a normal midrange or tempo deck, use a direct removal, stronger two-cost character, or more consistent reserve-disruption card instead of Pan.
