Bait is mainly a narrow Yzmir control or tempo card that benefits when the metagame is full of token-heavy decks—especially Ordis swarm lists—because stealing up to three opposing tokens can both weaken their expedition and improve yours, potentially creating a large swing for only three mana; however, it is poor against character-focused or low-token decks, and its Fleeting restriction means it offers little long-term value when no strong targets exist. In most Yzmir lists, cards such as `Kelon Burst` or more reliable removal and card-advantage spells are generally better because they remain useful against a wider range of opponents, while `Bait` is best treated as a sideboard or meta call rather than an automatic inclusion. It should see play only if your local or expected field regularly produces several valuable tokens; otherwise, replace it with flexible removal, draw, or direct expedition interaction.
